Beef Tataki
A beef steak quickly seared and marinated in a sauce made with Olea Kotti olive oil, sake, garlic, fresh ginger, and lime juice. Thinly sliced like carpaccio and served with a reduced marinade sauce.
STEP 1
Peel and crush the garlic clove.
Peel and grate the ginger.
Zest the lime and squeeze out the juice.
Heat a pan with olive oil and sear the beef steaks for about 3 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Set aside.
Off the heat, deglaze the pan with sake and the olive oil sauce. Add the lime juice, ginger, and garlic.
Mix the marinade well and transfer it to a bowl. Place the beef steaks into the marinade to soak in the flavors.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour so the meat absorbs all the aromas.
Drain the steaks and slice them very thinly.
In a saucepan, reduce the marinade over low heat for about 10 minutes. Let it cool.
Serve the sauce separately, along with the thin beef slices.
